In The Spotlight

Amen Corner at Augusta National

Yay….It’s Masters Week

In shock news, Wiltshire Golf Courses are still wet, full of water and doesn’t look like the rain is going to stop anytime soon.

But switch on the TV and you’ll see one the best presented golf courses in the world.

I don’t know about you but after watching the Masters I feel a bit sad that I’m not yet playing in the sunshine on manicured fairways and greens.

The greens staff at the Wiltshire courses must be wondering what they did to deserve such crap weather, for such a prolonged period.

Hats off to them for all the work they do so we can still play our games…

I raise a glass of an Azalea Cocktail to every green keeper

So who’s your pick for the Masters this year?

It’s hard to look past Scottie Scheffler in his current form…but the beauty of the Masters is that it gets in the players heads more than most other tournaments.

Which means anything can happen…and usually does

I’m still keeping my fingers crossed for Rory, I’d like to see him do the grand slam and join that very short list of golfers who have achieved it

Who ever you fancy winning, I hope you enjoy the tournament!

And oh to have this in your back garden

This Week's Featured Golf Hole

As part of our Player Profile Series we ask the Players to tell us their favourite hole from across the Golf Courses in Wiltshire, this is the choice of this week's Player.

Cumberwell Blue Course Hole 26

Steve’s Favourite Hole is Hole 26 at Cumberwell Park

Par 3

GREEN 219 YARDS | WHITE 197 YARDS | YELLOW 172 YARDS | RED 129 YARDS

What can you say about the 26th hole?

One of the finest risk and reward holes you will ever find.

If the pin is tucked anywhere near the left side you will need to hit close to the lake for a good chance of a birdie or even a par.

Bale out right and you could have a monster putt.

From the back tees this hole is formidable where anything less than perfect will find a watery grave.

The Performance Zone

Each week we share a tip from a Golf Professional, Coach or Equipment specialist to help you improve your game, from Curing the Shanks to Choosing the right Driver

This week PGA Professional Richard Lawless shares some tips to be more consistent
