Scottie Scheffler Wins The Players Championship
Scottie Scheffler produced a brilliant final-round 64 to defend his Players Championship title and claim his second-straight victory this year, making history as the first player to defend the title
Scottie Scheffler has become the first golfer to defend the Players Championship as he took out the title by one shot over Xander Schauffele, Brian Harman and Wyndham Clark.

The World No.1 started the day five shots behind but shot a classy, bogey-free 64 – including an eagle and six birdies – to take the clubhouse lead at 20 under, with the chasing pack hot on his heels.
It went right down to the wire, with Schauffele, Harman and Clark all just one shot behind going into the 18th hole.
Harman had the first chance to tie Scheffler but missed his putt left, carding a two-under 68 for his final round to finish in a tie for second.
Third-round leader Schauffele couldn’t get his approach close enough and missed his 60-footer, ending his tournament with a 70.
Clark, who led by four shots after the second round, came the closest to sending the tournament to a playoff, but came up agonisingly short with his putt lipping out in brutal fashion – ultimately making Scheffler the first back-to-back champion at TPC Sawgrass.
“It’s really special,” Scheffler said after his win. “I don’t know how to put it into words but it’s great to be back here again this year.”

This Week's Featured Golf Hole
As part of our Player Profile Series we ask the Players to tell us their favourite hole from across the Golf Courses in Wiltshire, this is the choice of this week's Player.
Tom’s Favourite Hole is Hole 12 at Manor House – ‘DOOLITTLE’
Par 5
BLACK 498 YARDS | WHITE 477 YARDS | YELLOW 446 YARDS | RED 430 YARDS
One of the most visually stunning Par 5’s you are likely to see.
The hole doglegs across a valley, with heavy rough, the River Bybrook, the lake and bunkers to negotiate before you reach the green.
Take a fairway wood of long iron off the tee to ensure playing your second from the short grass. The green can be reached in two but it requires a long shot.
The green undulates and hardly has a straight putt. The best of luck!

Time For A Laugh
The right club?
A hacker was playing so badly that his caddie was getting increasingly frustrated.
On the 11th, his ball lay about 160 yards from the green and as he eyed up the shot, he asked his caddie,
“Do you think I can get there with a 4-iron?“
“Eventually,” replied the caddie, wearily.
