Individual Hole Analysis

Hole 1 Par 4
407 Yards ~ Stroke Index 11

Wrag Barn Hole 1 Layout & Distances

The opening hole at Wrag Barn is a sharp dogleg right, so you can guide it up to the top of the ridge straight ahead or take on the corner with a little fade.

Beware of the ditch if you go long and through the green.

Hole 2 Par 4
402 Yards ~ Stroke Index 5

Wrag Barn Hole 2 Layout & Distances

A tight tee shot as the fairway is tree lined on both sides. The 2nd shot into the green needs to be long enough to clear the large bunkers at the front guarding this large green.

Hole 3 Par 3
181 Yards ~ Stroke Index 17

Wrag Barn Hole 3 Layout & Distances

The first Par 3 which plays uphill and can be deceptive with club selection. A well struck tee shot will clear all the front bunkers to a green which slopes from back to front.

Hole 4 Par 5
542 Yards ~ Stroke Index 15

Wrag Barn Hole 4 Layout & Distances

A picturesque Par 5 from the tee box looking over the Wiltshire countryside.

A good drive favouring the right side towards the fairway bunkers on this downhill hole will open up the second shot for you. Long hitters can have a go in two if they feel brave!

Hole 5 Par 3
198 Yards ~ Stroke Index 3

Wrag Barn Hole 5 Layout & Distances

The Course Signature hole and longest par 3 presents you with a green well protected by water.

Wrag Barn Par 3 5th Hole

Not much room for error on this hole especially as it normally plays into wind. Choose your club wisely and reward could be yours.

Hole 6 Par 5 ~ 512 Yards ~ Stroke Index 13

Wrag Barn Hole 6 Layout & Distances

The 2nd Par 5 on the front 9 has Out of Bounds all down the left and a very undulating fairway.

The ditch in front of the green challenges the big hit in 2 and the pot bunkers await a stray right shot into this narrow green.

Hole 7 Par 4 ~ 389 Yards ~ Stroke Index 7

Wrag Barn Hole 7 Layout & Distances

A tough Par 4 which has a tight landing area for your drive as the ditch protrudes from the left and right side of the fairway to catch any stray drives. This green falls away from front to back.t and a very undulating fairway.

Hole 8 Par 4 ~ 352 Yards ~ Stroke Index 1

Wrag Barn Hole 8 Layout & Distances

This hole is Stroke index 1 on the men’s card; it has a small tree and fairway bunkers making a tight driving hole. Too far right and the tree blocks your way so choose your route carefully.

It’s uphill to the green so make sure you club up.

Hole 9 Par 4 ~ 402 Yards ~ Stroke Index 9

Wrag Barn Hole 9 Layout & Distances

This is a blind uphill tee shot so if you hit it long enough to get to the brow of the hill it will leave you a short second shot down to the green.

Now you can have a well earned rest and the halfway house!

Hole 10 Par 5 ~ 560 Yards ~ Stroke Index 12

Wrag Barn Hole 10 Layout & Distances

The longest Par 5 at Wrag Barn. A good tee shot is required favouring the right hand side so you can see the green but beware of the pond awaiting your approach shot.

Hole 11 Par 4 ~ 324 Yards ~ Stroke Index 4

Wrag Barn Hole 11 Layout & Distances

The shortest Par 4 on the course. Think about taking a shorter club off the tee as the hole is well guarded with bunkers and a narrow fairway.

The green on 11 is elevated for an uphill second shot with a deep bunker in front so take enough club.

Hole 12 Par 3 ~ 155 Yards ~ Stroke Index 16

Wrag Barn Hole 12 Layout & Distances

This short Par 3 requires a well struck tee shot to clear all the bunkers that surround the front of this green.

Club selection can be deceptive depending on conditions on the day.

Hole 13 Par 4 ~ 356 Yards ~ Stroke Index 6

Wrag Barn Hole 13 Layout & Distances

With Out of Bounds all the way up the left hand side the 13th hole requires a straight tee shot.

With a short 2nd shot to the green it gives you a great opportunity for a low score.

Hole 14 Par 4 ~ 398 Yards ~ Stroke Index 8

Wrag Barn Hole 14 Layout & Distances

Standing on the elevated tee against the wind it seems a long way to the fairway with a large bunker covering the left side.

Beware of the ditch near the green if you hit left

Hole 15 Par 4 ~ 464 Yards ~ Stroke Index 2

Wrag Barn Hole 15 Layout & Distances

The hardest Par 4 on the course. With two well struck shots you may get somewhere close to this green in regulations so a 5 here can feel like a Par.

Hole 16 Par 3 ~ 151 Yards ~ Stroke Index 18

Wrag Barn Hole 16 Layout & Distances

The shortest Par 3 on the course but it is well guarded with bunkers around a narrow green.

The 16th can be deceptive when conditions change and make club selection tricky.

Hole 17 Par 5 ~ 482 Yards ~ Stroke Index 14

Wrag Barn Hole 17 Layout & Distances

The 17th Hole has Out of Bounds all down the right side and fairway bunkers on left and right. The green is guarded by a wooden sleeper ditch which supports the front of this green.

A good birdie opportunity and long hitters may get up in two!

Hole 18 Par 4 ~ 347 Yards ~ Stroke Index 10

Wrag Barn hole 18 layout

The final hole presents a fine view of the clubhouse. A nervy tee shot, as Out of Bounds is all down the right side and a long fairway bunker lies in wait of the protective pull left.

Play safe to the left side of the green and now, judge the break on this tricky last green.
